Artificial Intelligence in Education

Today I completed a Microsoft training course about artificial intelligence and how it can be used in the world of education. Artificial Intelligence, or AI, can be defined as "the ability of a computer or other machine to perform those activities [or tasks] that are normally thought to require intelligence." There are various types of AI such as Generative AI, which includes text, codes, audio, and graphics, along with ChatGPT, which is an application that allows you to communicate with a computer and have interactive chats.

Along with this training course, my professor showed us some useful AI programs to use for our educational experiences. SchoolAI is a website that has TONS of great Artificial Intelligence resources that are incredible for teachers! SchoolAI creates personalized lesson plans, worksheets, tests, quizzes, newsletters, jokes, songs, poems, and SO much more for FREE!! I created a quiz using the ChatGPT feature and it cut my work time in half.

Another great AI resource for schools is called Magic School AI. Magic School AI offers a similar variety of Artificial Intelligence programs for teachers. I created an IEP in 60 seconds using the ChatGPT tool on Magic School's website.

Planning out lessons, quizzes, exams, and assignments with AI is directly correlated to Domain 1 of the Danielson Framework for Teaching. Planning ahead and cutting planning time in half with AI is a lifesaver for teachers.

Here is an example of a worksheet I created using SchoolAI:
