FigJam

FigJam is an online site that is a creative workspace for teachers. It is easy to share and collaborate with. I used FigJam to create a co-teachable assignment on matter and ratios. It was very simple to share the board and create the lesson plan. FigJam offers a variety of resources to help make lesson planning simple. You can add digital Post-it notes, doodles, text, videos, stamps, cartoons, voting polls, AI, and so much more to your lesson board! While making my first lesson with FigJam, I used the AI feature to get started. It created a simple lesson plan template for me to draft my ideas. FigJam relates to section one of the Danielson Framework for Teaching by providing excellent lesson-planning materials to teachers. Creating boards with FigJam allows teachers to easily brainstorm and create simple lesson plans. How can you implement FigJam in your classroom?

  • Have students drag their name to their lunch order for the day (packing, buying, etc.)

  • Have students drag their names to their transportation (parent pickup, bus rider, after-school care, etc.)

  • Interactive math lesson plans

  • Annotating reading selections (Type the text onto the board and have students sketch annotations and add Post-it notes!)

  • Brain breaks or indoor recess (Allow students to draw, doodle, or play games using FigJam as their creative outlet!)

  • Class voting (Polls)
